Do I need a Wireless network adapter for every TIVO in my house?
I have 2 Tivo's but only one network adapter. Do I need to get another one for the 2nd TIVO so I can share the programming between the two? The network adapter will not let the two receivers share programming. Each one stores what it records and will not transfer to another one. First the transfer speed - it seems like the wireless is slower but not enough to be concerned about. It takes quite a while to transfer a two hour movie but it is minutes not hours. If you have a series 2 TIVO you can transfer programs to your computer and then record them to DVD. The Series 3 TIVO can not do that yet. (TIVO is waiting approval from the piracy cops (Cable Labs)). If you want to transfer programs from the Series 3 you have to hook it to the computer and copy them in real time. That means a two hour movie takes two hours to transfer. You also need a hardware interface like DVD Express to connect the Series 3 to your computer.
